Role Overview

We are seeking a brewing professional with a background in education or curriculum development to lead a strategic initiative. The primary goal is to align our existing short courses with the CIBD (Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers) certification exams, ensuring our educational offerings meet global industry standards.

  • Brewing Expertise: Professional experience in brewing operations, technology, or science.
  • Educational Background: Proven experience in curriculum design, instructional coaching, or managing professional certification programs.
  • Communication: Exceptional reporting skills and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage a multi-year project with clear milestones and deliverables.

Position Details

Duration: Term of up to two (2) years.

Compensation: Up to $10,000 per year (max 2 years).

Note: A formal evaluation will be conducted at the conclusion of Year One to assess progress, outcomes, and alignment of goals and objectives before continuation into the second year.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Audit

Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of all current short courses. Produce a gap-analysis report identifying specific content areas that require updates to meet industry and student needs, as well as the CIBD exams.

Integration Strategy

Research and develop a plan to integrate MBAA course content into a cohesive track for CIBD exam success. This involves high-level coordination between the MBAA Executive Committee, course directors, and additional partnerships.

Stakeholder Management

Provide regular progress updates and strategic recommendations to the MBAA Executive Committee and the Education Committee to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.

Expert Sourcing

Assist Course Directors in identifying and securing leading Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to fill critical content gaps or lead specialized educational modules.

Quality Assurance

Collaborate closely with the Education Committee Chair to design and implement a sustainable plan for recurring course evaluations well beyond the initial 2-year term.
