Fall is for Hop Rubs and Fresh Hop Beer

About the Event

We have an exciting weekday meeting planned for all of our members on Thursday, September 24th. Join us at Everywhere Beer at Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles from 3-6pm, for a technical talk on hops, camaraderie, networking, fresh hop beer, and of course, mug and a hat! 

If you won't be making it to Yakima or Willamette this harvest season, join us in DTLA, where we will have some brewers cuts and hop selection kits available from our generous sponsor suppliers, Haas, Hopsteiner, Crosby, BSG, and Hollingberry. We will also have Jay Prahl, currently with White Labs, but previously with Hopsteiner for 13 years, and a UC Davis Master Brewers' graduate. He will help guide us through the do's and don'ts of hop selection, including what things to watch out for, sensory techniques for a hop rub, and picking the right hops for your beer design. We are still working on logistics, but we may also have a fresh hop beer brewed by the crew from Everywhere, ready and on tap for the meeting! This portion of the meeting is free for members and $20 for non-members

Welcome to District Southern California

Founded more than 70 years ago, MBAA Southern California provides education, camaraderie, and support for our dynamic brewing community. We are home to a diverse and inclusive array of breweries, stretching from our sunny southernmost border to the beautiful Central Coast, from the Pacific Ocean to the majestic mountains and deserts, and including our friends in Nevada and Arizona.

We typically hold meetings twice a year. Each meeting includes technical presentations, a continental breakfast, and plenty of time to socialize. With members ranging from the largest breweries on the planet to the smallest nano operations, we work together to constantly improve our beers, processes, and relationships.
