Farmhouse yeast cultures that have been inherited for generations without ever having seen the inside of a laboratory still survive in a few remote regions in Europe. They are being collected for scientific study, and to support that research a registry of the various yeast cultures is being maintained. This note describes the registry and the methods used to collect the information in it. It also gives a brief overview of the cultures collected so far and the data on them.
