Abstract
Breweries, wineries, and distilleries all fall under the OSHA category of beverage manufacturing. Safety issues such as confined spaces, hot liquids, pressurized tanks, and forklifts seem to be at the forefront of minds for brewery owners and safety managers. But one of the top six violations cited by OSHA to breweries is the General Duty Clause, which includes ergonomic hazards such as repetitive tasks, awkward postures, and material handling. Most musculoskeletal disorders are preventable by implementing good ergonomics and an injury prevention training program.
