Join us for our district summer meeting at Brewery Ardennes!
With a presentation from our host, Derek Edinger on package conditioning! In the era of the omnipresent 16 ounce can, bottle-conditioned beer can be a differentiator that drives customer demand; especially for unique and limited-edition releases. This talk will briefly discuss the commercial benefits of bottle-conditioned beer, but largely focuses on the technical details and quality control for the bottle conditioning process. This is important because very small changes in gravity equate to large changes in carbonation. A number of low cost and easy-to-implement quality control steps will be discussed so you can avoid the woes of flat beer and bottle bombs.

Meeting Sponsorship: Members may sponsor a meeting by purchasing a sponsorship level. The District Board reserves the right to limit or censor any sponsored content. Sponsorships are voluntary and do not represent an endorsement from the MBAA.

Scholarship Fund
MBAA's mission is to assist the brewing industry in continually improving their processes and products by providing and communicating technical information and innovation through professional development and educational support.
As part of that mission, District Western New York has established an annual $1,000 scholarship to provide funds to an individual(s) seeking to further their knowledge and understanding of our industry's malting, brewing, and packaging fields. The funds awarded can be applied to course fees, tuition, book and material purchases, or other associated costs relating to continuing brewing education. Proceeds from our summer golf tournament and fall tasting event directly benefit this fund.
To be considered for the scholarship, an applicant must be a member in good standing with District Western New York, complete the official application process, and submit the required materials. For additional information or to request an application, please contact [email protected].

Welcome to District WNY
Our membership is currently made up of members from 10 central New York breweries and several brewery vendors. Our district holds meetings in the winter, spring, and fall along with a golf tournament in the summer, a tasting event in the early fall, and a Christmas party. The golf tournament and the tasting event are both to benefit the scholarship fund. Each year the district awards a $1000 scholarship to a member who has submitted an application and meets the requirements. The scholarship is used to future the brewing knowledge of the recipient.
