Inaugural Meeting Recap –
MBAA District Northern Rockies May 29/30, 2015
Dear Friend
Thanks for helping
make our inaugural meeting for MBAA District Northern Rockies a success. We
didn’t know what to expect for attendance and were pleasantly surprised. Over
forty people attended the meeting held May 29 at the University of Montana
Missoula. Fifteen breweries were represented along with industry
representatives from Hopsteiner and Malt Europe. We had two technical talks on
quality assurance from Todd Crowell of KettleHouse Brewing and Kyle Sillars
from Big Sky Brewing. We also sampled some fine pale ales and discussed dry
hopping techniques with a panel of 5 brewers. Finally we enjoyed a feast of epic
proportions paired with some awesome local beers. All in all it was a resounding success.
We hope this is just the start of even better things to come. The success of
this district hinges on your continued involvement in the MBAA and District
Northern Rockies. If you are a member
and have not declared your home district yet, please go to http://www.mbaa.com/membership/join/Pages/default.aspx and
declare District Northern Rockies as your home.
If you have not joined the MBAA yet, please consider doing so as there
is a wealth of information available to its members.
We
are still looking for folks to populate the following positions so that we can
build on the success of our first meeting:
- Membership
chair
- Sponsorship chair
- Meeting planning chair
- Historian/social media/web chair
(e.g. updating MBAA national link)
Please let us know if you’d like to volunteer for one of these roles.
Finally, we are in
the planning stages for our winter meeting to be held tentatively Feb 26, 2016
in Missoula. Look for more details soon
as we plan for yet another opportunity to get together to share our knowledge
and love of beer.
Thanks again for coming and please spread the good word about
District Northern Rockies!
Sincerely
Tim O’Leary
Co Founder KettleHouse Brewing
President MBAA District Northern Rockies.
