Flash pasteurization is one possibility to extend the shelf life of beverages like beer. Especially with cloudy beers, additional adjuncts like fruit particles, and long distribution channels flash pasteurization is a common way to ensure the longer shelf life stability requested by purchasers. This presentation will look at the technological and technical basics and touch on critical design issues and typical challenges.

Henri Fischer graduated with a brewmaster degree. Henri is member of MBAA Districts Milwaukee and Mid-South. He has been a product manager process technology with Krones, Inc., Franklin, WI, since 2013. He was a team manager process technology 2 division with Krones AG, Germany, until 2012, and in the Technology Department at Steinecker, Germany, until 2006. He conducted his brewmaster studies at TUM Weihenstephan and Doemens Academy, Germany, finishing in 2003, and worked as a brewer and maltster apprentice and as a brewer in a German brewery (Freiberger Brauhaus AG) from 1993 through 1998.
