Potential applications for an electronic aroma detector within the brewing industry.

Abstract
The operating principles of the AromaScan electronic aroma detector system are explained and the results of its evaluation at BRFI are presented. Applications in which the system has proved successful include the differentiation of hop varieties and the monitoring of fermentation and maturation (in which the instrument was able to detect anomalies such as excessive or insufficient pitching rates). A list of other potential applications in the brewing industry is presented in tabular form.
