Abstract
Under Heineken supervision approximately 30 million hl of beer were brewed in 1983. In Holland the production output itself was 10.8 million hl of which a substantial proportion was for export. An important percentage of the beer production in Holland is meant for Keg beer. First, the keg beer system is introduced, after which the development of the keg and the extractor is outlined. This is followed by a description of the machinery, especially the washing and filling units. Some remarks are made on capacity, staffing, etc. The paper is illustrated with a number of photos of a modern keg line.
