Abstract
Toohey's Limited, faced with problems arising from slow turnover of kegs in 'country trade' undertook the development of a multistage keg washer to produce clean and sterile kegs with high efficiency. At the same time, attention was given to designing and constructing an automatic racker which would fill and seal the kegs. This unit utilizes air operated sequencing controls and trouble free plastic bungs in standard Firestone design barrels. Both machines are in commercial use, and details of design and operating results are given.
