Abstract
What is considered to be good practice in planning for a start up and the actual start up of a fast bottling line is described. Conveyor systems caused the greatest start up problems, particularly with bottle handling on the conveyors. The bottling efficiency attained 87% after 48 days of operation with filler speeds of 1200 bottles per min.
