Abstract
Consumption of electrical energy can be reduced by the installation of capacitors to improve the power factor, by the installation of more efficient pumps, lowering operating pressure for compressed air and refrigeration, by the installation of more efficient lighting, shutting off equipment and lighting that is not required during non-productive periods. Fuel consumption can be reduced by checking and maintaining efficient operation of boilers, steam traps and auxiliary items, by checking steam piping systems for leaks, checking steam traps for malfunction, insulting bare piping, improving insulation on piping and equipment, installation of heat reclaim equipment, and lowering building temperatures.
