Draught line cleaning is one of the most critical functions in maintaining beer quality outside the brewery. The steady build-up of soil inside a draught line can be a welcome harbor for beer spoiling yeast and bacteria and if line cleaning is not performed effectively and in a timely manner, the draught system can quickly ruin beer’s aroma and flavor. However, despite this critical role, the methodology of line cleaning can vary considerably and, additionally, the nature of line cleaning networks can be quite different depending on state law. In this webinar, Neil Witte will address different line cleaning methodologies and their relative effectiveness. He will also discuss how line cleaning networks vary from state to state and how these different systems affect beer quality in those different areas. Lastly, he will detail industry efforts aimed at improving these methods and increasing the overall quality of draught beer.
