Abstract
A pressurized boiler system contains enough potential energy to relocate an entire brewery in a split second. In the craft brewing industry, there is a critical need for training in the proper specification, installation, and day-to-day operation of these systems. Brewers, mechanical contractors, and brewhouse manufacturers are often left relying on “best practice” advice without a true working knowledge of the boiler and its auxiliary equipment. When working only a few feet away from a piece of equipment with more expansive energy than dynamite, you need to ask yourself, “Do I have the proper training to operate this equipment safely?”
