Abstract
This paper provides instructions on how to calculate a brewerys greenhouse gas emissions using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative developed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and World Resources Institute. A walkthrough of the calculations is detailed for two hypothetical breweries: a microbrewery producing 10,000 bbl of beer annually and a regional brewery producing 1,000,000 bbl of beer annually. The emission sources for the sample breweries include direct fuel use, purchased electricity, fermentation, purchased carbon dioxide, transportation, and waste disposal.

Keywords: carbon dioxide, carbon footprint, emissions, Greenhouse Gas Protocol

Sntesis
