Some experiences in treating brewery waste water.

Abstract
The waste water production of a brewery and a town (100000 inhabitants) are compared. Monitoring of highly fluctuating discharges with a continuous COD meter and bulking of sludge in aerobic waste water treatment plants are discussed. Amongst unaerobic methods 3 rapid upflow systems are compared: (1) Degremont fluidised bed system, (2) Grist Brocades system with granular sludge, (3) Paques IC reactor based on granular sludge.
