Abstract
To meet the expected increases in demand for malt beverages, breweries must be prepared to expand in size or in numbers. Alternatively, the brewing process must be accelerated either through continuous processing or accelerated batch processing using improved chemical and biochemical assistance. There may be a need for improvement in technologies of converting nonconventional grains or other carbohydrate sources to beverage. Unconventional packaging materials might be needed in areas where glass or metal cannot be provided at reasonable cost.
