Hahn, C.W.

Abstract
The concepts of process control have been applied to all phases of malting and brewing operations in order to control production quality and to maximize efficiency. Degrees of automation ranging from manual remote and semi automatic to on-line computer systems are discussed, and the relative merits of all systems are reviewed. Since the sensing device is the most critical requirement in accurate process control, details are provided on commercially available process instrumentation for temperature, flow, pressure, level and solids weight measurement.
Keywords: automatic brewing equipment mashing process control
