Abstract
In recent years, there has been a growing concern of the various local and national agencies over the increasing problem of industrial waste disposal. In breweries, as in other industrial plants, water use is essentially a matter of economics and water reuse has been shown to be the key to handling water waste water at maximum profitability. Equipment and systems utilized in sedimentation, precipitation and coagulation, biological treatment, and sludge handling are reviewed and specific examples of their application in water reuse, waste water treatment, and by-product recovery are furnished.
