Course Objectives

This course will help attendees prepare to take the Institute of Brewing & Distilling (IBD) Diploma in Brewing Examination Module 3. This module is typically the most difficult to pass for those without an engineering or technical educational background. Similar courses exist in the United Kingdom. MBAA is now making the review course available in the United States.

Prerequisites

The course and examination is open to any candidate without prior work or educational requirements, although candidates need to be well grounded in science and mathematics. While the completion of the IBD General Certificate in Brewing is helpful, it is not required.

Why Should I Take the Exam?

IBD certifications are recognized as a highly respected and valuable professional designation. Many breweries around the world use the Diploma in Brewing to qualify potential technicians, team leaders, and head brewers.

Each module consists of four units. Each unit consists of one assignment and one one-hour long written exam, which will be split between short- and long-answer questions. Applications must be receive by IBD no later than November 1, 2011. Applications received November 2 - March 1, 2011, will incur a ₤40 late fee per module. Applications will not be accepted after March 1, 2011.
