Welcome to the MBAA District
St. Paul - Minneapolis home page.

If all be true as we do think
There are five reasons why we drink:
Good beer, a Friend, or being Dry
Or lest one should be, by and by...
Or any other reason why!

It has been a very rocky spring. With tornados across the country as well as here in Minnesota, it has indeed been an interesting spring so far. It also appears that mother nature has decided to keep the temperatures fairly moderate for our spring. This could be taken as good or bad depending on who you are. There was no update for the month of May. We saw great success for District St. Paul/Minneapolis in 2010 and hope to continue that trend for 2011. We want to thank everyone in the district for your participation and dedication to making our district a strong one.

The Spring meeting was held August Schell's Brewery on May 11, 2011. The turnout was phenomenal. The weather cooperated for a very nice time. Thank you to ted Marti for the fascinating presentation on the history of the brewery and the trials and tribulations that have been experienced over the last 150 years. We wish you many more years of success. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful steak dinner, great beer and the great hospitality.

Our next scheduled meeting will be the Fall meeting to be held at Summit Brewery in St. Paul tentatively scheduled for Nov 9, 2011. Our presentation for the evening will be given by Mark Stutrud on the history of Summit Brewery. Thank you to Mark for graciously volunteering his time and his brewery for our next meeting.

The annual golf outing, which unfortunately was cancelled last year, will take place June 17, 2011 at the New Ulm Country Club. Please contact Eric Harper (eharper@summitbrewing.com) or Tom Kaehler (labrat@schellsbrewery.com) with your RSVP by June 1st. The cost is $38.00 for 18 holes and $9.50 for thedinner. Event is to start at 12pm. Tom is also looking for donations for give-aways.

The executive committee for District St. Paul/Minneapolis has decided to forgo the normal summer meeting and just have the summer social. The Summer Social to be held at Hyland Lake Park Reserve at the Sunnyside Pavilion once again. Please join us with your family Saturday, July 30th for some fun in the park.

The officers would love to hear from all of you with suggestions on how we can make our district more enjoyable. If you have other suggestions please let one of the officers know.

We are always looking for new members, so if you would like more information about the MBAA please contact our membership chair Theresa Chicos at tchicos@rahr.com, or contact any of the district officers. We are always happy to assist.

If you have any concerns or questions please contact one of the members of the executive committee.
