Creating/Updating District Web Websites/Pages

We have used this template to build new district web pages. It is a flexible template as you will see if you check out many of the existing district websites.

Contact Dawn Vukson Van-Beek at dawnv@scisoc.org  or +1.651.994.3843 to customize your own districts’ site. view the New District Template for general ideas. you do not need to include every item, and if you have other pages of information for your members, lets build a page for it.

PAGE UPDATES

Updates to District websites can be sent to Dawn Vukson-Van Beek via text in the email, a Microsoft Word Document Microsoft Word, or an Adobe PDF file Adobe PDF File. All district Calendar items are automatically added the the MBAA.com Calendar, and forwarded to the Technical Quarterly and the MBAA Newsletter Editors. Please DO NOT send ZIP files, as they are blocked by the internet firewall.

GUIDELINES FOR INFO POSTED TO THE WEB

  • Aim at your target audience.
  • Provide information, interaction and entertainment.
  • Info should be clear, concise, focused and have a purpose.
  • Maintain, update and change your page(s) constantly.
  • Fresh content gives your visitors a reason to keep returning.
  • Forget the "bells & whistles". Let the page(s) load quickly. The text should be well written.
  • If you are going to use pictures make sure that there are in the form of .jpgs The images should be reasonably high resolution at 200-300 ppi.

CREATION OF NEW PAGES

Type up word documents. Send them to Dawn Vukson Van-Beek (dawnv@scisoc.org), with clear instructions on where you want the text to be located.

REMEMBER THAT ANY INFORMATION PUT ON THE WEB IS AUTOMATICALLY PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE.
Therefore do not editorialize on this site.

PHOTO ALBUMS

You may have to send photographs in several consecutive emails, in case your email provider limits the amount of files sent. Please send captions for photographs, and include the Date and Location where the photos take place. Add names when known- Familar faces to you are not familar to everyone.
