Meeting Minutes
May 13, 2009

• Bob Du Vernois called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests. Bob also thanked Ted and Jodi Marti for hosting this meeting.
• Rebecca Jennings read the minutes of the November meeting. Motion made to accept, 2nd, and approved.
• Rebecca Jennings asked for volunteers for a district membership chair. Theresa Chicos was the only volunteer. Motion made to accept, 2nd, and approved.
• Chris German gave the treasurer’s report. Motion made to accept, 2nd, and approved.
• Ray Klimovetz gave the National Tech Committee report.
• The MBAA convention for 2009 is to be held in La Quinta, CA
• Papers for the convention are closed
• 78 papers submitted, 40 approved for oral, and 11 workshops
• Announced that there is a new brewers forum headed by Mark Godfreid
• Steve Holley is going to be heading up the Beer certification course geared towards servers.
• Announced the new membership chair Fred Scheer.
• National is talking to the Brewers Association and the ASBC about holding one conference instead of three separate ones.
• Eric Harper and Theresa Chicos were introduced as new members.
• Bob Du Vernois gave the date of the golf tournament for 2009 and referred members to the district website.
• Meeting was adjourned and followed by a presentation by David Kapral and a wonderful dinner by Schell’s Brewery
