Where is the year going? Summer is half over already. There was no update for the month of July and will probably not be an update for September as well. I am reducing the number of times the website will have changes to every other month. There is just not enough news to keep the monthly changes going.

Thank you to all of those that attended the summer social on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Hyland Park in Bloomington. It was very successful and we hope you all had a great time. We will try to get the same venue for next year but on a Saturday instead of a Friday. If you have other suggestions please let one of the officers know.

Unfortunately the annual golf tournament will not be happening this summer. There has been a conflict and we are running out of summer to have the outing. Our apologies in advance for any of you that were looking forward to this. We will make sure that we plan ahead for next year.

We have planned something a little different for the August meeting this year. The meeting will be Aug 12th at the KC Hall in Shakopee, MN. BASF will be hosting and will offer tours of their facility before the business meeting commences. The turkey dinner and the presentation will occur simultaneously so that we can all make it to Canterbury Park before the first horse race at 7pm. If you have not already done so, please RSVP to mmiziorko@sumitbrewing.com before Aug 9th.

The 3-year discounted membership has lapsed and membership dues are back to the original level. If you would like more information about the MBAA please contact our membership chair Theresa Chicos at tchicos@rahr.com, or contact any of the district officers. We are always happy to assist.

2010 District St. Paul/Minneapolis will be hosting the Midwest Technical Conference. Summit Brewing Co in St. Paul has graciously offered to host this event. The dates are set for Nov 12th and 13th. More details to follow as we develop the plan. Suggestions are welcome. Thank you to John Andrews and Chad Thompson as well as the district officers for volunteering for the MTC committee.

The Brewing Summit in June was a huge success for both MBAA and ASBC. The MBAA and ASBC teamed up for the 2010 Brewing Summit that took place June 15-20, 2010 in Providence Rhode Island. The ASBC annual meeting was June 15-18 and the MBAA annual Convention was June 18-20. The exhibits overlapped from June 16-19. The vendors seemed to like the combined effort.
