Title:
How to Craft a Brew from Inception to Its Pour.
Abstract:
The story behind the creation of the team that developed Ascent 54. How the team chose a beer style, arrived at a name suitable for it and its market, and developed a marketing plan that supported the beer. How the brew was formulated and its brewing parameters set using standard brewing calculations. And finally, the brewing, fermenting, aging and finishing steps taken to produce the beer.
C.V. - Brief:
Steve Presley retired this past January after almost 35-years in the brewing industry. His last position was Senior Assistant Brewmaster for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. at Fort Collins, Colorado. During his over 30-year tenure with Anheuser-Busch, Mr. Presley has held various management positions at several of their twelve breweries. He has also worked in many of the company's international brewing operations including, Canada, England, France, Israel, Japan and Korea. Prior to joining Anheuser-Busch, he worked three years for the Pabst Brewing Company. Steve was educated in brewing science and wine making at the University of California at Davis, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Fermentation Science.
Steve is past President of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas, Districts Rocky Mountain and Southern California. His interests include photography, collecting breweriana, gardening, cycling, flying remote control planes, and backpacking. He has been married to wife Lynn for thirty-one years. Their two daughters are both engaged to be married and live in northern California.
