Members of District Philadelphia are witnessing a number of changes to the local brewing landscape and are excited at the prospects for even more brewery startups in the near future. We continue to encourage brewers in our region to become active in MBAA and reap the benefits of membership.

President Andy Tveekrem has invited members of MBAA District Philadelphia to be his guests at the Dogfish Head Brewing Company in Milton, Delaware for a full day technical session in October 2008. Our new Technical Chair Whitney Thompson will be lining up speakers for the event.

You can hear a Sue Henry’s documentary “Beer Gardening in Northeastern Pennsylvania” (MP3) which aired on Wilkes-Barre’s WILK AM 980 in October 2007. Her documentary is about brewing in the Wyoming Valley past and present and contains interviews with Secretary/Membership Chair Rich Wagner as well as the Lion’s Leo Orlandini.
