Bill Barnes, a Farewell

Bill Barnes Sr. passed away after a courageous battle on Thursday December 7, 2006 at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Bill was in his 81st year.

Bill was formerly Head Brewmaster, Carling O’Keefe/Molson Breweries, (’51 Grad of the Ontario Agricultural College). He joined the MBAA/MBAC on December 15, 1956 and was a stalwart supporter of the master brewers association in District Ontario. He was a great brewer and unquestionably a "gentleman" and friend to many.

He was the beloved husband of Stephanie Barnes; loving father of Trish (Tom), Bill (Tracy), Blair, and Heather; cherished grandpa of Jenny, Jeff, Kirsten, Graham, Jamie, Bradley, Kamryn, and great grandpa of Ryan and Drew. His son, Bill Barnes Jr. continues the family brewing tradition working in the same brewing department in Etobicoke brewery in Toronto, as did his dad.

Family and many longtime friends and colleagues miss “Bill”.
