Approximately 200 members and guests gathered for the 31st annual One-Day Technical Conference at the Wyndam Bristol Place in Toronto on January 23rd. In maintaining the tradition of the one-day, the conference commenced with a bier stube on the Thursday night where members and delegates were able to socialize, meet old friends and make new acquaintances. The Friday technical session included many interesting discussions from several areas in the industry including packaging safety requirements, specialty malt and dry yeast applications, an innovative brew-house installation, PET packaging update, and an integrated approach to quality auditing. The keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Buckman provided a humorous but a memorable discussion through the use of demonstrations on how to improve communication skills in our day to day business.
Other highlights included a luncheon address from MBAA President Dr. Inge Russel and a handing over of the gavel ceremony, as our past MBAC President Doug Smallfield officially handed over the title to Joel Manning. |  | |||
