General Meeting MBAA District Michigan
March 25, 2010

Meeting brought to order by Marty Rapnicki @ 10:45
General Business:
- John Haggerty, Secretary, read the minutes from the 1/15/10 meeting. They were accepted.
- Eric Kuhnhenn, Treasurer, submitted the following report:
- Lumber Baron's donation of $430.00 - from the Mid-Michigan beer festival.
- National dues check for $320.00
- Checking account: 6310.25
- Savings account: 5002.00
- CD: 8265.00
- Total: 19577.25
- John Mallet, Board of Governor's report:
- Received many interested email returns that have sparked further debate at the national level. The BOG will be discussing this with the Exec. Committee at the next committee meeting. The BOG will discuss this further at the next BOG meeting at the national convention.
- How do we bring value to the members
- Podcast some of the Tech seminars from the national convention.
- Burn the above idea onto cd's to be presented to chapters or individuals. Sync it with the actual powerpoint presentation.
- Marty Rapnicki, Presidents report:
- We need new speaker gift ideas - needs to be 20 or less
- Peter Blum history of Michigan Brewing - Ken Belau
- we are registered for the Brewing and Malting course scholarship with national.

Old Business:
- Scholarship: national scholarships for Brewing and Malting and Packaging. National will subsidize the course for $1000. The district will pay the balance - approx. $2500. District Mi is registered for the Brewing and Malting scholarships. We will know by the pig roast if we have won.
- CBC - we donated 200.00 for support of the MBAA suite. Bring beer as well. See Marty for details regarding beer donations.
- National Conference - 6/16 - 6/20 in conjunction with the ASBC, Providence, RI
- Recognition of new members:

- Pig Roast/Summer social:
- Fitzgerald Park, Grand Ledge, July 10

- You are responsible for all tickets you take.
- You must either return the physical ticket or the money for said ticket.

- Cost:
- $20/member
- $25/non-member
- $10/designated driver
- Under 3 is free
- $5 up charge for tickets purchased at the door
- 2011 Winter Conference:
- Kalamazoo Radisson, Jan 12 - 14
- May change location for 2012 but we are looking at the K-zoo Radisson as a semi-permanent home.
- Some discussion was had regarding mid-week v. weekend scheduling
- Some discussion was had regarding Crystal mountain as a possible location.
