Dear MBAA member,

District Michigan proudly invites you to our Summer Social 2003 at Coldbrook Park in Climax, MI, just East of Kalamazoo on June 21st. There will be a pig roast, including side dishes and beer, outdoor games and activities, and the announcement of the recipient of the first annual Peter Blum Memorial Scholarship. This will be a social event with no technical presentation and no meeting.

The fun begins at noon and lasts as long as you like. The park gates are locked at 9pm and Cold Brook Park charges an entrance fee of $5.00 per vehicle. The cost for attending the Summer Social 2003 is $20.00 for current MBAA members and their significant others, $25.00 for non-members, kids are free. The admission includes food, beer, overnight camping if you wish, and a commemorative tee shirt if you RSVP by June 14, 2003.

Coldbrook Park offers swimming, fishing, disk golf and horseshoes. For the avid bikers, Fort Custer, near Battle Creek, has excellent biking trails.

The Peter Blum Memorial Scholarship will be awarded at random to a current District Michigan MBAA member. The winner will receive $1,000.00 to attend the National MBAA Convention in Milwaukee October 4th-7th. To enter you must be in attendance at the Summer Social and be able to get the time away from the brewery during these dates.

Also, since this is a social event for brewers, we kindly request that you bring some of your fine craft beer along with the appropriate beer dispensing equipment.
