From District Michigan.
A meeting of the MBAA District Michigan was held on March 27, 2003 at Kalamazoo Brewing Co. in Galesburg. Our President, John Mallet at 2:10pm, called the Meeting to order. The following people were present for the meeting:

Treasurer Report: Chad McDaniels reported that the district has $1,783.90 in the checking account as of 12-31-02 and $9012.17 in a CD which matures on June 29, 2003.

Board of Governors Report: John Muuse III reported that that the Eastern Technical Conference is in May. On a very sad note, a robber killed Cathy Kinton's(MBAA National President) husband.
The Michigan District is sending a donation to her charity.
Old Business: The pig roast was moved from Jan Muuse III house to a park. The park needs to hold about 100 people. Michigan Brewing Co. was looking into a free pig. Dan and Larry know pig cookers. We are having a pig roast to showcase the MBAA, to raise money from the suppliers. We will have T-shirts printed with the MBAA logo on the front and all the sponsors on the back. Members were reminded to bring beer. Two parks that are possibilities are Cold brook and a site in Gaylord.
New Business: A scholarship for a $1000 was made available to all members. This year's is to the National Conference. Members need to return the form with the next letter.
New member are: Dan Scarselia, Bret Kuhnenn, Steve Gray, John Haggerty, Nathan Walser, Mike Peters, Andy Rathaus. Harold McClany transferred to district Michigan. Non-Member fee increased to $20.00. To help attendance, Susanne Graydon will do phone calls to non-members. Please RSVP so the host has an idea on how much food to make.
Technical presentation: On yeast by Dr. Chris White of White Labs.
