Michigan District

News From District Michigan.

The last meeting of the MBAA District Michigan was held on January 9, 2003 at Zig's Kettle & Brew in Jackson, MI. The meeting was hosted by Zig's brewer,Joe Short. Attendance was very strong with about 40 craft brewers and allied trade members. The technical presentation was conducted by Kelly Kuehl, Director of Products and Brands of Mid-America Brewing Supply. Kelly's subject was Malting & Malt Analysis for the Craft Brewer. He presented his information in non-technical terms and in a non-biased format which was appreciated by all those in attendance.

The district membership voted to authorize $275 to proceed with the Establishment of a web presence to be hosted by the MBAA on its website. We would like to invite you to check out our work in progress at www.mbaa.com/Districts/Michigan .

The next meeting of District Michigan will be held on March 27, 2003 at Kalamazoo Brewing Company (Bell's), Kalamazoo, MI; 616-382-2338. Chris White, from White Labs, has confirmed that he will attend to conduct the technical presentation for that meeting.
