District Northern California Holds Summer Gathering

On Friday, August 14, MBAA District Northern California hosted a summer gathering in conjunction with the San Francisco Brewers Guild. The gathering was held at the Thirsty Bear Brewing Company in downtown San Francisco. Seventy MBAA members, San Francisco Brewers Guild members, and their guests attended the event.

There was no formal meeting agenda during the event. The purpose of the gathering was primarily social, allowing MBAA and San Francisco Brewers Guild members to meet and exchange information. It was also a great networking opportunity for brewing industry personnel to discuss business and new technologies. In addition to brewers, representatives from several brewery supply companies and allied industry suppliers attended the event.

Many of the members brought their beers for everyone to sample and enjoy. Thirsty Bear Brewing Company provided delicious food to accompany all the great beer.

We wish to thank everyone who attended the summer gathering and look forward to providing future social events for our members and guests.

—Rob Heller
District Secretary

District Rocky Mountain Holds Annual Out of Towner Event

The MBAA District Rocky Mountain held its annual 3-Day Out of Towner in Grand Junction, CO, September 18–20. Good beer, good food, and good fun! The word that comes to mind is Gemütlichkeit (pronounced ge-méet-luh-kite), which connotes the notion of a public festivity (in the form of a "mixture of friends, music, food, and drink") that "promotes community solidarity." This meeting was certainly embodied the spirit of Gemütlichkeit. The weekend began on Friday evening at the Kannah Creek Brewery. Our gracious host Jim Jeffryes (owner/head brewer) treated us to fine cuisine and suds.
